Tai Neilson


Tai is a native of New Zealand and a recent graduate, having received a BA (Honors) in Sociology and Media Studies from from Victoria University of Wellington. Currently, he's completing a Masters in Sociology at the New School for Social Research. In 2009, Tai carried out research for the Office of Film and Literature Classification in New Zealand.


Tai's current research interests include understanding changes in the nature of production and the consumption of digital media, the political economy of media, as well as how political and social discourses play out in entertainment.

Tessa

 

Jacob Mergendoller


Jacob originates from the Bay Area and will soon enter his final undergraduate year at Wesleyan University, working toward a B.A. in Psychology. His undergraduate research has focused on social, developmental and cognitive psychology, and he has assisted on research published by the Marin Institute, an organization that monitors the negative social effects of the alcohol industry.


Jacob’s current interests include examining the psychology of media and its influence on society, and finding new ways to promote positive change and social responsibility through media.
